Cheryl Featherstone is the founder of No More Domestic Violence Awareness and Prevention Organization at NoMoreDVorAbuse.org. for which she's received two distinguished awards: 2022 Presidential Lifetime Achievement Award signed by President Joe Biden; and Gospel Choice Music Awards 2022 Humanitarian of the Year. As a domestic violence survivor, she founded the organization in 2016 to help current victims of domestic violence transition to a safer environment. NoMoreDVorAbuse.org partners with YWCA and provides prayer, information, guidance and financial assistance to victims who are ready to leave their abusers for good. She has already begun the groundwork to partner with Our House in an effort to establish a state headquarters/branch of NoMoreDVorAbuse.org in Indianola, MS to serve the entire state of Mississippi.

Gospel singer, Cheryl, got her musical start early. Her father, a pastor would frequently call her up to sing before and after his sermons when she was only seven years old. Her mother, lead singer of an a cappella gospel group would have her to fill-in when one of the group’s members could not attend an event and soon she was singing everywhere she could; at church and in local talent competitions, a pattern that continued all the way through her public school years of which she attended a highly competitive performing arts high school.
Cheryl McWhorter Featherstone is the wife of City of Indianola Mayor Ken Featherstone and mother of three young adult sons: Noah, Wesley, and Kendal. She and her husband are members of Mt. Beulah Missionary Baptist Church in Indianola, MS. The First Lady brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to the Mississippi Delta with more than 25 years of experience as a retired Education Administrator/Education Specialist for incarcerated and at-risk youth in Alabama; currently serving at Mississippi Valley State University Director of Community Service-Learning; a Nonprofit Organization Founder; and a Christian/Gospel Recording Artist.

Cheryl started pursuing a professional music CAREER IN 2009 AFTER auditioning for BET's hit show, sunday best and besting over 3000 candidates in the atlanta, georgia area.
Cheryl auditioned and placed as a finalist in the 2009 season of the BET hit show Sunday Best, besting over 3000 candidates in the Atlanta area and performed for judges Bebe Winans and Erica and Tina of the hit gospel duo Mary Mary. Cheryl has been working towards a gospel singer/songwriter career since as she is currently working on her newest project entitled New Wings that is scheduled to release December 2025 She has served as an opening act for Earnest Pugh, Dorinda Clark, Ted Winn, Byron Cage, Ricky Dillard, Patrick Dopson, the Wardlaw Brothers, Pastor Charles Jenkins, Bishop Marvin Winans, Tremaine Hawkins, Karen Clark Sheard, Vanessa Bell Armstrong and Pastor Donnie McClurkin! She has also been featured on Bobby Jones Gospel television show as a featured new artist on Impact Television Bobby Jones Presents. Adding to her list of talents, Cheryl hosted Another New Day with Cheryl McWhorter Weekly Television Show on Jam Vibes Television Network.
